Pile of Ghosts
You are a pile of Nice and Cool ghosts living in a House when a stranger comes knocking.
Making Your Pile Of Ghosts
Grab a small piece of paper, and invite a ghost to join you.
Write their name on the piece of paper, and one statement about how they are Nice and one statement about how they are Cool.
This piece of paper is now possessed. Say hello to your new friend before placing them on the pile.
Repeat until you are satisfied with your pile of ghosts.
Once that’s done, consider what the House they live in is like.
There’s somebody at the door
Someone has come knocking on your door. Decide who they are, something they want from the Ghosts, and something they want from the House.
Whoever this is, they are afraid of Ghosts.
Answering the door
When the Visitor presents a problem the ghost at the top of the Pile must resolve it. Using either the ghost’s Nice or Cool, explain how the ghost responds to the problem.
Thank the ghost for their help before placing them back at the bottom of the pile.
If the ghost is both Nice and Cool when solving the problem, they will be at peace. Hold them close for a moment and wish them farewell. When they have gone, place the piece of paper anywhere but the pile.
Last Ghost
When there is one last ghost left in the pile, the ritual changes. The visitor is no longer afraid of ghosts and leaves you in peace.
When there is one ghost left in the pile, ask them what they want to do. If it is safe, do this and the ghost will find peace.
It's okay to cry. I'm crying right now.
When you're feeling lonely, remember your pile of ghost friends. You made them happy, and they hope they made you happy.
